I am a highly qualified elementary and middle school tutor, specializing in all math up to Algebra 1. My qualities include being very patient and caring, and I love to help students succeed. I have a BS in Early Childhood Education from the University of Maryland (UMD) and am currently pursuing a Master's degree in child counseling at Bowie State University.  

 

I have taught and tutored all grades and subjects from Kindergarten through 8th grade. In return, I have learned that students have very different learning needs. My tutoring focus ranges from the more traditional methods such as organization, structure, and academic discipline to modern, multi-modality and multisensory approaches to learning. I intentionally create an atmosphere of encouragement and comfort to help guide students to growth and success. To support this, I help students connect new ideas to their previous learning experiences. For me, mistakes are learning opportunities, so I teach students that their response to the mistake is what truly matters. 

 

Helping others brings me immense joy, and I absolutely love working with students and seeing them grow, academically and socially.
