I help students identify areas for growth and build the confidence to independently work through obstacles
I help students become more organized, confident, and independent learners. I currently teach Executive Functioning and Social-Emotional Regulation, where I work with students to develop the organizational, critical-thinking, self-advocacy, and emotional-regulation skills that help them succeed both in and beyond the classroom.
My approach is student-centered and inquiry-based. Rather than simply giving students answers, I help them understand how they learn and think, identify areas where they can grow, and develop practical strategies for working through academic challenges. Through research, discussion, writing, and guided problem-solving, I encourage students to ask better questions, think critically, advocate for themselves, and gradually take greater ownership of their learning.
My training in special education gives me an additional perspective when working with students who may struggle with organization, attention, confidence, or other barriers to academic success. I strive to meet each student where they are while helping them build the skills, resilience, and confidence to move forward independently.
I also bring a strong academic and research background to my work. I conducted education research on classroom assessments with the National Institute for Early Education Research (NIEER), which gave me valuable insight into how instructional approaches and learning environments influence student learning and development.
I earned a Master of Arts in Social Studies Education and Teacher of Students with Disabilities (TOSD) from Rutgers University, graduating among the top three students in my program with a 4.0 GPA. I also hold a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, with minors in Philosophy and History, from Rutgers, where I graduated with high honors for my capstone thesis examining private prisons and mass incarceration.
In 2024, I was honored with the New Jersey Distinguished Clinical Intern Award, recognizing me among the top 40 graduate teachers in New Jersey for excellence in student teaching.
As a tutor, I bring together subject expertise, special education training, and a genuine commitment to helping students become more independent, resilient, and confident learners.
My goal is not simply to help students get through their next assignment or prepare for their next test, but to help them develop the skills and confidence needed to succeed on their academic journey.
