“...extensive experience supporting students with…Executive Function challenges, ADD, ADHD, and various processing challenges.”

“I help unlock a student’s full reading potential.”

I am a seasoned, Orton-Gillingham certified tutor with a passion for helping students of all ages—from kindergarten through high school—become confident, capable readers. I begin by creating a personalized literacy plan tailored to your child’s unique needs. Together, we meet several times a week to build skills, boost confidence, and unlock their full reading potential.

As a veteran special education teacher, I also have extensive experience supporting students with learning differences, including Executive Function challenges, ADD, ADHD, and various processing challenges.

I hold a BA in Early Childhood Education and a BS in Sociology with a concentration in Social Work, giving me a deep understanding of the vital connection between home and school. In 2007, I earned my Master's degree in Special Education from Towson University.

For the past 22 years, I’ve been proud to teach in Baltimore County Public Schools, and I truly love what I do.

In February 2023, I became certified with 60 hours of training in Bowman’s Orton-Gillingham “Plus”: A Multisensory Approach to Reading, Writing, and Spelling. I later expanded my training with an updated, comprehensive 30-hour course in May 2024, along with an additional 3 hours focused specifically on fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension through the Institute for Multi-Sensory Education (IMSE).

Understanding how we learn to read is essential for educators, which is why I also completed the 8-unit LETRS course. LETRS equips teachers with the knowledge and skills to effectively teach phonological awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, comprehension, writing, and language—all grounded in the Science of Reading.

I believe every child deserves patience, creativity, and skilled instruction to help them become strong readers. I have the training, experience, and passion needed to support your child’s success.

I can’t wait to meet them!
