Jennifer Birdsell

Jennifer is currently a full-time mathematics faculty at Anne Arundel Community College (AACC). She started teaching at AACC in 2012 and currently teaches developmental and college-level mathematics courses, including College Algebra, Statistics, and Calculus. Prior to this, Jen was an adjunct faculty member for several Maryland community colleges and a high school math teacher for private and public schools both in the U.S. and abroad.
She graduated cum laude with a B.A. in Pure Mathematics from Eastern University, then obtained a Maryland Secondary Teaching Certification followed by an M.S. in Applied Industrial Mathematics from Towson University. Throughout her professional teaching career, Jen has always found the time to tutor students who are struggling with math.
She enjoys working one-on-one with students and being able to meet individualized learning needs. Jen has experience and training working with students who have Executive Function Disorder, ADD, and ADHD.
Michael Birdsell
Director of Operations & Community Outreach
Michael teaches philosophy at both Anne Arundel and Prince George’s Community Colleges near Annapolis, MD. He completed a master's in classical studies from the Graduate Institute at St. John’s College in Annapolis. Michael has a diverse background in academia. In 2019, he gained certification to teach online college courses. Since then, he has built multiple online courses, two of them as part of national grants.
His philosophy seminar course was built as part of a National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) grant and in partnership with his alma mater, St. John's College. This was an interdisciplinary project that included the Philosophy, English, and History departments at Anne Arundel Community College.
Michael has taught in the U.S. and abroad and provides tutoring for a wide array of humanities subjects, though most of his effort is focused on helping students as an Academic & Executive Function Coach. He graduated with a B.S. from the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences at Arizona State University, followed by post-baccalaureate studies in Education. Michael then received a Master of Arts in Liberal Arts from St. John’s Graduate Institute in Annapolis, MD. He has experience and training working with students who have Executive Function Disorder, ADD, and ADHD.
