Most rewarding? “...when the light bulb comes on for a student who can't grasp a concept until a real-life example is applied.”
I graduated Magna Cum Laude from Mount St. Mary's University with a Bachelor's Degree in Forensic Accounting, then obtained a Master's Degree in Business Administration. While in college, I started tutoring students in introductory and intermediate financial accounting.
I can tutor high school accounting courses, college financial accounting, and both personal and corporate finance.
My philosophy includes applying real-life examples to concepts that would otherwise seem difficult to understand. I have found that business-related classes are often taught as a formality instead of in a way that will truly benefit students. The most rewarding feeling as a tutor is when the light bulb comes on for a student who can't grasp a concept until a real-life example is applied. I pride myself on connecting with students on a personal level and understanding their pace and style of learning.
I enjoy helping students discover the best ways to study and be resourceful in all facets of academia.
